Hieroglyphe database
The ancient Egyptian writing system is one of the most extensive in the world. Translating the text takes a lot of time due to the high number of characters and the possible combinations and the analogue literature makes the translation process even more difficult.
A networked information system, clear displays and a variety of filter and search options make the translation of texts easier and more efficient.
Intelligent searchings an filters helps to find sooner the needed hieroglyphe and give directly a short overview about the most important information.
In the detail view of each hieroglyphe are more informations and links to related objects and vocabulary.
We plan to replace handwritten lists of vocabulary and add. books for orientation.
To suport the understanding of ancient egypt grammar Vocabulary will be splittet in the different functions of each hieroglyphe.
Object database
The object database will be a collection of different items created by ancient egypts. Statues, jewelry, papyri and other objects are stored and can be selected according to various criteria such as people, gods, period but also historical events. Objects with hieroglyphs include translations where possible.
A detailed description of each object including material and a historical classification will be provided in the object view.

In the persons index you will find an overview of all known persons of ancient Egypt independent if this person is a king, a queen of an official.
The search result can be narrowed down to specific people using comprehensive search options. It will be possible to enter names in different languages, include hieroglyphs and other characteristics such as gender, country of origin or position.
